Dream Lake in November is no joke-snow, ice, and wind that really wakes you up, but it’s easily one of the most epic spots for a proposal. And Annalie and Evan absolutely crushed it.
Evan wanted a sunrise moment in Rocky Mountain National Park, and Dream Lake was the perfect call. I hiked up early to get into place and hide, and these two made their way up together just as the sky started to glow. The mountains were lighting up in that soft pink November sunrise, and the timing couldn’t have been better.
When they reached the lake, Evan led Annalie toward the edge to “check out the view,” and then he dropped to a knee. Her reaction was pure joy, hands over her face, the happiest yes, and instant excitement. It was such a good moment to witness from behind the lens.
Afterward, we took photos around the lake while the snow sparkled and the wind tried its best to freeze all of us. Didn’t matter, these two were laughing the whole time and made the cold totally worth it. The energy was fun, easy, and exactly why I love photographing proposals.
Sunrise + snow + two people who adore each other = a ridiculously good morning.
If you’re thinking about proposing in Rocky Mountain National Park (or anywhere in Colorado), reach out, I’d love to help you plan the perfect moment.
